How Does DStv Extra View Works
Dstv Extra View works with 2 or 3 DStv decoders and allows you to watch different channels at the same time while paying one subscription. Further, it allows you also to record different shows at the same time on separate decoders. Please note that if you are connecting three decoders in an extra view setup, a DStv Explora Decoder will be required as a primary decoder.
Why am I getting E143-4 error message on my Extra View decoder?
DSTV extra view Decoders are linked together through what is called a “heartbeat”. The heartbeat is sent from the primary DSTV decoder to, the second and third DSTV decoder every 30 seconds.
Therefore, If the Extra View decoders loses the heartbeat for more than 5 minutes, it will give an error E143-4 and stop showing video and audio until the heartbeat is restored. This can be caused by various things such as faulty or wrong installation, primary decoder switched off, bad weather, etc.
It is recommended by Multichoice to use qualified installers when connecting DStv Extra View Setup. We are always on the other side of the line to help
How to clear E48-32 Error Message
The DStv Error E48-32 that shows a message saying “There is no signal. This may be due to bad weather or a faulty connection in the installation”. It is a common error experienced by many DStv users
In most cases this is caused by loss of signal from your Satellite Dish, a Fault LNB, worn cables etc. This error can’t be cleared by all Multichoice self service or customer care platforms. You will need a qualified DStv installer to sort out this problem.
However, if you are techy, you can start by first checking if all of your cable connections are tightly connected properly. Then, if the problem persist, please contact our DStv Accredited Installers

Can I Connect My DStv Decoder On 2 or More TV's?
Yes you can connect your DStv Decoder to as many TV’s as you like. There’s 2 common ways to share picture from 1 decoder to 2 or more TV’s. The first one is whereby the picture is distributed by coaxial cable from your decoder to other TV’s. This way you will get Standard Definition (SD) picture quality on all additional TV points.
The second picture distribution system is whereby cat5/cat6 cables are used with HDMI extenders and splitters to distribute High Definition (HD) picture quality to all the additional TV Points.
However, RCA cables can also be used for SD picture distribution and fibre or coaxial cable for HD. Talk to us, we can be able recommend or install your extra TV points the way you want.
